Bird attorney go brrr.

Seriously though the branching paths and plot twists were quite nice. A quick VN perfect for quick sessions.

Aviary Attorney is a joy to play through and through. For Ace Attorney fans, this game will scratch that itch and more. This game has so much charm, wit, and style. The art direction is timeless and looks fantastic. The music also perfectly complements the art and the setting of the game, which is 1840s France. The characters were all funny and well written, with some crazy twists and turns in the story. I like how there are 3 different endings you can get based on the choices you make in game. But the game allows you to jump into any point of the various chapters to make it more convenient to get all of the endings or little hidden achievements. The medal system was a neat way to track progress through the chapters and finding hidden easter eggs and other dialogue choices that were worth seeking out. It only took me about 7 hours to fully complete the game, which was more than welcome on my end. I would highly recommend this game to both Ace Attorney fans and newcomers to the visual novel/lawyering genre of games. It is well worth its price.

Really short but interesting game. I love the aesthetics, the gameplay loop/gimmick, but I feel like the story could've been a bit longer. Also the game desperately needs a fast forward button...

Fairly pleasant detective game. It plays a bit like ace attorney in the way that you have to gather evidence then present it during the trial. The game is filled with humour and the art style is quite unique. The caracters are also enjoyable so an overall great game for people enjoying detective or puzzle games

Beautiful UI, pleasing art design, and soothing music are things that are evident in this game from the very start. The cases start simple but get more challenging towards the end. On the overall, really charming and of the perfect length. One of the best games I've played on the Switch

Aviary Attorney starts off as harmless fun. The dialogue is simple, often funny, and gets to the point. It's a visual novel, and the comparison to Ace Attorney is immediately apparent. The art is stylish and bold, and the music is period accurate and a fun mood setter. The first two cases are well made, but the next two reveal some rather large flaws.

Time is a central mechanic: you need to visit locations each day to gather evidence. The problem is that if you don't gather the right evidence, you can fail the trial. However, there's really no way to tell how to gather all the evidence you need in the allotted time. Worst of all, if you want a do-over on the trial with more evidence, you have to replay the entire chapter, and there are no skip dialogue/scene features. You have to spam click for 15 minutes straight. It's pretty bad design.

For the story, it starts off decently. You play as a bird lawyer, defending the downtrodden of France. The tone is lighthearted and silly, with nice little jokes and references to the setting. However, after the second trial, the game incorporates a plot element that weakens the whole story. A revolution is brewing; it is France, after all. But cases 3 and 4 center *so* heavily around this revolution, and it's not exactly a nuanced historical depiction. I mean, it's a visual novel about bird lawyers; it probably shouldn't be. But the story wants to have stakes, and innocents can die in tragic ways. So the tone gets *weird*, and the characters who were once silly comedy reliefs suddenly have to comment on the merits of a violent revolution and whether peaceful protests can accomplish anything. That's not to say silly games can't try to have dramatic tension or a compelling plot, but it's not handled well here.

I was pleasantly surprised the first hour or so, enjoying the whimsical adventures of two birds solving crimes in the streets of 19th century France. But the way the game handled gathering evidence and the big shifts in story focus in cases 3 and 4 really dampened my enjoyment. I'd go as far as to say case 1 and 2 constitute a good game, and case 3 and 4 nose dive that good will. I appreciate the attempt at branching paths and a more serious story, but it's a miss on the execution on both accounts.

Music is great, gameplay reminds us of the Ace attorney series, art is special but lovely blended with the Paris nineteenth century context, writing is delicately refined and the game's settlement makes it a great game ! Love it !

Great Ace Attorney-like game, though it's kinda short therefore I would like one more case in main story line. Dialogs has a lot of wit in them and characters are memorable. The art decisions of using XIX century caricatures and classical music are interesting and work great.

Overall Aviary Attorney is an incredibly fun and intriguing court drama visual novel in the style of the Ace Attorney game series. The game oozes charm with it's witty writing and unique visual style making it quite an enjoyable and entertaining playthrough. Unfortunately even with 3 different endings the game is short and only clocks in at 6-8 hours max, plus its puzzles are fairly easy to solve. If you are a fan of the Ace Attorney series you will definitely enjoy the familiar gameplay and well crafted story. I myself am eager for additional cases and endings down the line. However, if you are turned off by Aviary Attorney's shortness and easy difficulty you may want to wait and pick it up on sale.

Pros:
+ The story is well crafted and entertaining, with three incredibly varied endings.
+ The writing is witty and well done.
+ The visuals and sound are beautiful.
+ An incredible cast of characters.
+ The courtroom and crime scene investigation gameplay is just as fun as the Ace Attorney series.

Cons:
- The game is short. It took me only 4 hours on my first playthrough and 6 hours to see every ending.
- There is little replay value after completing all endings, save to make different choices for a few minor plot changes.
- Easy courtroom and investigation puzzles. I had no problem procuring all necessary evidence on my first playthrough and faltered only once or twice in presenting wrong evidence.

Shockingly good. Adding RPG elements to the Ace Attorney formula helps replay-ability and gives the player more ownership over the main character's personality and actions; plus, it means the story doesn't end should you miss a vital clue or don't get the verdict you want.

One of a handful of western visual novels that can stand toe to toe with the likes of Danganronpa and Ace Attorney.

The writing is quite funny and the art is obviously spectacular, but much of it feels slapped together. It plays with a lot of Ace Attorney tropes and subverts some of them, but that commitment sometimes causes the plot to suffer. The mysteries are simplistic and yet still don't hold together under much scrutiny, revelations from the first chapter fail to significantly impact the various narrative arcs, many of the major characters undergo major, rapid changes that offer no payoff, and the final trial (at least in the ending I got) may as well be a kinetic novel since all the choices that affect it occur in the third trial.
