DNF. I can’t beat Gilgamesh with the limited curatives I have, and no ability within the episode to purchase. I can eventually replay and try to farm, but I have no interest. It’s not special enough for me to do so.Updated 1 Year Ago

Episode Gladios is worth the cheap price to pick up, and is most certainly worth playing through at least once if you own the Windows or Royal Edition of the game, as it would be a freebie. The game is relatively fun to play overall, features some decent (if basic) level design, and it does give some good character-building for Gladios, a character that is of the strong-silent mold, so this is appreciated. However, the story told within this Episode is threadbare at best; it features some neat Lore, but honestly, the Lore doesn't even feel that cohesive with FF15's already established world-building, so this almost feels like someone created a unique world for a 1-2 hour game of its own intellectual property, and then this was retrofitted to be in the FF15 universe. On the gameplay front, the game is perfectly serviceable, although honestly I'm not sure if I'd necessarily call it 'Fun'. The music is pretty excellent (a unique musical score from the main Final Fantasy XV game itself), and I actually think I liked Gladios' voice acting slightly more here than in the original game. If there's a serious issue, beyond the plot being borderline non-existent, is that this Episode is visually inferior to the rest of the FF15 content – Not only are many of the textures and assets like those from an early PS3 game, but the Cutscene that played right before the final boss featured a terrible glitch where the camera's perspective would change, but the characters wouldn't change for the first 2-3 frames; the fact that this entire game is a relatively small area makes this all the more perplexing, considering that the main game itself, with a world of dozens of square-miles, never had a single one of these problems.. Still, the game is fine, and overall fun enough.Updated 1.5 Years Ago

Not much to see here; a pretty decent experience but it doesn't do much different from the main game's combat system ( in fact, it takes away from it).Updated 2 Years Ago

Gladiolus has interesting gameplay, but suffers from being the first and shortest of the game's DLC expansions.Updated 3 Years Ago

without skipping cutscenes this is about 1 hr and 15 mins of content. If you skip the cutscenes and ending credits then this is maybe 40 mins of content. That said, the gameplay it introduces is parry based and very fun. It also offers a score attack mode and a boss fight against Cor Leonis at the end. Beating the dlc gets you a swanky sword and a shirtless Gladio option for the main game. The sword was good enough to use until chapter 14 (out of 15) and you also get a bonus grid attack for Gladio that is fun to use and visually fun.

The story is crap. Basically it is about Gladio wanting to be strong to protect Noctis. Cool, I guess. There isn't much more to the story unfortunately, barely any character development. I guess hanging out with Cor is kinda nice.Gameplay is ok. You mostly need to shield to get enough rage going so that your strikes can do significant damage. Not more complicated than this.
Very lacklustre episode, but at least it came for free with the Royal Edition and overall can be bet in 90 minutes if you take your time

It was okay. I love the way Gladio plays a lot but other than that it was way too easy and short. Wanted much more!Updated 4.5 Years Ago

It feels like poor mans Dark Souls. You, a big cave, lots of enemies, 1 on 1 Boss Battles. Its nice to Play as Gladio and get a bit more Exposition on him and General Cor. The Story is nice but nothing special and easily the weakest episode. I got it for free with the Game Pass and imo its not worth 5 bucks.Updated 4.5 Years Ago

The highlight of this DLC is the lore within it, the combat is as good as the base game but nothing that different, sure Gladiolus uses a great sword as a normal sword so its a different wielding than Noctis's but you will adapt easily to this one. The campaign will take you more or less 1 hour and a half, it's easy, save the last boss fight which has a better challenge and is kind of a cool fight, merge that with a nice backstory for Cor and Gladio and you'll have an OK game.
I liked my time within this episode but it felt short and a little underwhelming, my favorite aspect so far was at the save points, where you can ask some questions to Cor about the past, those interactions were pretty great, if you care for the lore of FFXV that is, if not, you can stay away of this DLC.

Short, doesn't add much to the story, is much more about smashing through enemies than anything else. It's too bad they didn't do more to flesh out Gladio.Updated 6 Years Ago

Passing at best. Completely forgettable story masking a glorified linear dungeon with slightly different combat scenarios that aren't challenging, unless you consider "you need to use potions" to be a challenge. Good voice acting at least with a slightly memorable soundtrack.Updated 6.5 Years Ago
