Difficulty level 3/10
Good Crash game! I have heard people don't like Wrath of Cortex maps but i think it has one of the best maps of the Crash series. Only annoying thing is game Difficulty level is 3/10 but boss Difficulty level is like 8/10 especially Fireboss was so hard for me i died like 25 times. ps. If you like original Crash trilogy, i think you like this one!

This game is very fun! It's not too challenging but you will get stuck on some parts but you should not take a long time. I ended the game with over 60 lives no game overs. Some bosses can be tricky but very well made. The game does progress to also get difficult but not all that bad. Even if the game is very short, it's a very fun game and I wanted more. I would play this game if you have a chance and beat it as well. And if you like challenging games, play this! Also I will say the music was very low for me for some reason. But it's not that bad and has some good gems. Other than that I gave this game a 7.5/10 and which it was more like the OG where the levels were harder but still has a nice challenge!

A bit worse than the original trilogy, but still a very solid game. There are a few levels that are mediocre, but the good levels outweigh the bad.

Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex

Pontos positivos:

- Gráficos: São bonitos principalmente jogando em um emulador de PlayStation 2 em hd com uma iluminação bem legal em diversas fases;
- História: É ok, feita com intuito para não ser algo sério e sim mais cômico;
- Missões: Com objetivos simples de quebrar todas as caixas, coletar gemas, cristais e concluir as fases no menor tempo possível;
- Fases: As fases seguem a dinâmica do jogo anterior à este com uma variação bem grande de gameplay sejam as que possuem veículos alternativos ou a de mobilidade padrão. Destaque para a fase em que o Crash está dentro de uma bola de hamster e controlamos ela;
- Gameplay: Manter praticamente a mecânica do jogo anterior foi um excelente acerto deste jogo, com algumas modificações específicas que são interessantes;
- Trilha sonora: A série segue com boa trilha sonora temática para cada level;

Pontos negativos:

- Movimentação do robô controlado pelo Crash: A movimentação do robô é bem mais ou menos, a animação do pulo quando está parado é muito lenta e quebra a dinâmica do jogo em horas que você recebe dano;
- Chute rasteiro da Coco: Quando parado o chute rasteiro da Coco tem uma animação muito lenta e que também quebra o dinamismo.

Nota: 8.4/10.0

This is by far the worst Crash game I have ever played, and I've played Crash Bash before.

The level design is absolutely horrible. This game features the most boring, repetitive, infuriating levels out of everything I've seen from Crash. Some levels are obnoxiously long and just refuse to end. The only levels I genuinely enjoyed were the Coco ones (because I love Coco) and the hamster ball levels, which were by far the best (and only) good addition to the franchise this game brought. Don't even get me started on the fucking water levels and the flying levels.

The boss stages were also atrocious. Controls were wonky, the fights were unfair and the power-ups were laughable. My memory did not fail in reminding me how much I despised them as a child.

This thing is a mess. Oh, and did I mention the absurd frame rate drops? In my endless quest for pain in which I decided to get all the relics and unlock all of the levels (which I gave up on, by the way), I found myself having to strategize around the fact that I couldn’t just rush through some of the levels because of the FPS drops. That was a lot of fun and not unbearable at all!

Did I enjoy going back to this game? No. Not at all. This game is a stain in Crash Bandicoot's career.

Actually fun Crash game! Well in the spirit of the previous games, and actually not that hard? Same as the original trilogy, gotta get used to the controls to get the best out of it. I enjoyed my time with this game! We do not talk about the credits.

With every Crash Bandicoot game after the original trilogy being seen as a sort of black sheep of the series (well, besides Crash 4), I really didn't know what to expect with Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex. All in all I found it to be a decent enough experience as the classic Crash Bandicoot gameplay was carried by some solid level design, though it can't be understated how the designers had a fetish for gimmicks. I'd say this game definitely lacks focus as you're often interrupted mid-level to jump into a different gimmick on the fly. Gimmicks themselves will often be the make or break for this game as they take up so much of the runtime, though I didn't find any of them to be hair-pullingly awful. A bit uninspired in some areas for sure, but I think they fare alright for the most part. Bosses were pretty solid. Music slapped tbh. Not a bad game by any means, but not Crash's best either.

You'd think this game was a spin-off from a Nickelodeon cartoon, considering how cheap and rushed it feels. I mean, say what you will about Crash Bandicoot games, but the classic trilogy always had tight controls and consistent physics. With Wrath of Cortex it's like they re-built the engine from scratch and managed to create something that feels like a fangame. The collision, the climbing, and the crouch/slide jumps all just feel off. The techniques you can pull off are limited and clunky (or seemingly impossible to pull off at all, like the super body slam), so you don't have much freedom to experiment with shortcuts and exploits.

That's all pretty harsh critique, but it's not a terrible game. It's just a bad Crash Bandicoot game. On its own merits, it's somewhere between mediocre and average, leaning closer to average.

The platforming stages are fine, everything else is either awful and barely works or works just enough to the point where you wish it wasn't in the game.

Loved this as a kid but man, its not great to play again now.

This is not as good as the original trilogy but this is the first time they ever did it on a modern console for the time it was bound to be difficult but i'm not holding back on this but the loading was bad the story was bizarre and i think there are definitely better titles in the series

I can see why people dont like this game, but I love it! The gameplay is consistently fun (for the most part) with a great soundtrack and good visuals. Load times aren't as bad as everyone says and this is the best controlling Crash game to date.

Over the years with Crash Bandicoot, I've had a weird time. Back in the PlayStation days, I felt overwhelmed by Crash marketing, dolls, and one new Crash game a year, including a technically good kart game that felt wholly unoriginal. Now that we're on the new system, the weight of all that stuff has fallen by the wayside, and I'm less hateful of the marsupial known as Crash. In fact, I have a strange endearment for him, or it, whatever.

Sure, I would have liked a newer game, and I definitely would have liked something with some spunk, originality, and creativity, but this game wasn't designed to be anything more than a functional, pretty platform game that follows the Crash formula by the numbers.

Given that Crash was created by a new development team, and has a new publisher, just from a design and production standpoint, Crash had a lot riding on him, perhaps too much. So, the best route for Universal Studios Interactive and its team was to follow the path already taken.

The result? A decent playing and pretty looking Crash Bandicoot game. It's nothing terribly special, but it's not bad, not bad at all. I hope that in the future we'll see some big changes, creativity-wise and hopefully, originality-wise, in the future with Crash. Or is that still expecting too much?
