I think this thread has been done before but it's been ages since someone has made a topic about this. This was just an idea I came up with the inspiration coming from Knowbowl's Games That Are Funny thread. Has a game ever made you cry? Or are you just too strong of a person to cry at a game?

Personally, I want games to make me cry at points. Even though I loved Yakuza 0, I was hoping for a chance to tear up at a part Specifically Tachibana's Death or Makoto's Grave Injury that sends Majima into a broken man or Nishki failing to betray Kiryu because he is his blood brother Any of those spoilery moments would be perfect, but the fact is, I didn't. I don't know what it was. Those were fantastic and shocking scenes, but I have no clue why I didn't cry at them.

There is only one game that has made me bawl for like 5-10 minutes and it's the Halo 3 ending/epilogue. For those who don't know, this ending made me cry super hard like nothing was ever going to be ever okay again. But here is the thing, it wasn't Sgt. Johnson's death from 343 Guilty Spark that got me, it was the scene after Chief and Cortana and Arbiter escape Halo. MAJOR SPOILERS: It was the memorial scene where they think Chief is dead and Lord Hood forgives the Covenant and Arbiter, after that, Arbiter goes back home with his kin to settle things and it closes up on the memorial site The music is so masterfully crafted here and I got so emotional. This scene always gets me and I usually don't play this game unless I know what I'm getting into by the end even though it's one of my all time favorite games ever.

I heard Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is also a huge tearjerker but I never played it but really want to. I would also say that my replay of Forza Horizon 3 made me get a bit emotional but I didn't necessarily cry. It's just I needed a moment because I didn't want it to end (even though I could just continue doing every race and stuff but still)

Anyone have an emotional moment at a game? I'm trying to prepare myself to play some other 'tearjerker' games like Lost Odyssey since I heard that is incredibly emotional.

What games put you in tears? : https://howlongtobeat.com/forum.php?&thread=1303&page=4

This forum has a search function for a reason. Also the last post was made a month ago.

DOH! It was? Shoot. That's on me my mistake! I'll make sure it won't happen again! I'll have to make a note to myself to not post stuff like this late at night without doing research (which should probably be done in the daytime when I actually am awake). This has happened a couple times I hate to admit it. Mistake has been made and I'll try to avoid that again.

Ahem

Honestly, out of all the crazy events that happened in Nier Autotama, it's a bunch of texts on a screen that truly made me starts bawling. It's a bullet hell that starts off easy but gets harder and harder the more you go on. To the point that it's basically impossible to get through on your own. You start getting inspirational quotes telling you to keep pushing forward, every time your spaceship gets blown up. Eventually, getting back up from other spaceships as the choir kicks in, making the whole process a cake walk. It's only when you actually finish the credit scene do you realize that the spaceships and quotes are from players that had to sacrifice their save data to help you in the process. All those hours exploring the world, acquiring new weapons, learning new skills. All gone with a simple push of a button, in order to help someone else. From a perspective of someone who doesn't play games, this might seem like the most trivial thing, but to me this was by far the most beautiful and human moment I've even experienced in any game, and seeing something like this during one of my darkest times in my life is something that I needed.

Thank you, Yoko Taro.

EDIT:
Also some honorable mentions would have to go to Persona 5 credit scene, Undertale Pacifist route, and Celeste in general.
