When I first heard of this I was immediately tempted to play it, especially since this didn't really feel like a game filled with tons of jump scares. It's another solid Szymanski project this time focused on memorizing enemy placements and only having one gun in particular. That gun does a great deal of damage especially if you get that attachment that makes it have rapid fire. I actually liked having to switch quickly between the flashlight you pick up to your weapon to get rid of these pony creatures. The game is much more of a survival horror than it is a Indie/Boomer Shooter, with Szymanski giving the player a slow walking speed and little room from dodging insanely fast projectiles. This could get really annoying, but the game allows you to pick up ammo by the door immediately after loading into a new level. I'm certainly not a fan of having to do loop backwards however and even in Szymanski's Chop Goblins he avoided this completely by giving us variety in levels. Unfortunately, there's no variety. Aside from some colored lighting, the game is all in black and white giving the game a very stale look. I like the design of the pony monsters though and having a couple variations does help combat become less repetitive.

There's a final boss, but it's nothing special. Mainly just shoot the shit out of it and then you'll be rewarded with the ending. The nice thing about this game however is that it does have a great sense of humor and ends up calling back to some of Szymanski's other projects, possibly him trying to create his own gaming universe around his short projects. If that's the case, I hope he can do more with his upcoming games that have yet to be released. I also loved the spooky music in this game, giving the game a kind of corny but sincere feeling to the entire thing. It's worth playing if you're a Szymanski fan like I am and the lack of jump scares makes this still a game I can recommend to people who don't like horror but want to have something a bit like Chop Goblins, although to a much lesser degree in variety.

I swear up and down I played this before, but Steam and my prior game completion logs say I haven't. Another one of David Szymanski's messed up little horror vignettes with a hint of dark comedy. Really cool environments and neat one weapon combat. It's cheap, but also really short.

Big fan of David Szyszismansnzki's stuff. However, in this one, I opted to abandon after 15 minutes because the game is simply too visually dark. It's an FPS, but most of the challenge is to see how long a gamer can squint. Fumbling around in the dark doing repetitive things just isn't my bag. Sorry Dave.

The game was really fun. I enjoy a fun, lighthearted, quirky horror game and this fits the bill. Just enough jump scares to keep things interesting while not going over the top. The fast-paced game style was nice and smooth with the mouse and keyboard. Xbox controller support is included but the movement accuracy decreases when you use the controller but not enough to make it not fun. Overall, really a good time. Would recommend and will play again.

Even though the limitations are visible that this was made for the 7DFPS game jam with the limited enemy variety, repeating backgrounds, and storytelling relegated to mainly documents, it's the pacing, gameplay, and scares that are still effective. Having to walk around with a flashlight because the environments are nearly pitch dark black-and-white, but if you spot an enemy, you have to switch to your bolt gun to put down these magical hellish ponies and you're basically spraying and praying. The bipedal ponies that hit you with a mage-like attack make it easier to spot them in the dark but you'll have only that millisecond to aim at them. The shooting feels good, and the enemies gib well as expected for a David Szymanski game. It's quite an inspired setting, mixing religious horror with a meat plant and turning humans into ponies so they sin less to the point where sinning is calculated. The saves are for each level, so if you die, you have to repeat the whole level which are usually a few minutes long but because it's so effectively scary (got jump scared a handful of times), I would be relieved after each level. You can shine a light on a pony, and they won't notice you, so you can strategise when to move and shoot in the dark. Once you complete the main objective, you're escaping all the way back those levels, and even on normal difficulty, you will definitely want to use all the health kits and ammo pickups. Colour gets introduced in this latter half to moody effect, and the story has a great final twist about your character. For less than 2 hours long, finally using the Doom 3 gimmick to good effect, and this price point, it's an easy recommend.
