Fun and breezy DLC. Nice little episodic stories that didn't have much bearing on the main story but were easy to get through. Maybe a little too easy.Updated 12 Hours Ago

This DLC consists of 3 episodes, of which I enjoyed much differently, but the entire DLC as a whole is basically The Twilight Zone, and I liked that theme a lot. It revolves around "What If' scenarios of characters from other Remedy Games. Episode 1, Number One Fan, is an absolute slaughter house, mad DLC. I thought this was the strongest of the 3. The music, gunplay, and dialogue were excellent.
Episode 2, North Star, you take control (lol) of Jesse Faden, from Control , with Saga Anderson gameplay at Coffee World. I dug this one as well. It was very similar to the main campaign.
Episode 3, Time Breaker,is all about Sheriff Tim Breaker/actual actor Shawn Ashmore going through weird portals and corridors that seemingly repeat endlessly, PT style. I was real mixed on this episode. It was OK. I liked how meta it was, though.
Overrall, a solid DLC that explored new, creative themes.

This was ok. Each story is about an hour so nothing overstays its welcome. The lame thing is that every episode just reuses all the major locations from the main game. Besides the first episode, combat is an afterthought. They give you basically what amounts to infinite ammo so there’s no tension. They definitely have a lot of fun with these and get even zanier than usual, so they’re fun little romps but nothing memorable. Night Springs is like if your weird little nephew named Frompy licked a psychedelic toad’s ass and started reciting Shakespeare in a nursing home. It’s bizarre but charming but gets old and dies by the end!

Alan Wake II: Night Springs is a good DLC that adds some enjoyable side stories, delving into quirky and fun tales. The stories bring fresh layers to the world of Alan Wake, adding charm and mystery for fans of the series. However, the DLC feels too short, leaving you wanting more content to explore. The gameplay doesn’t diverge much from the base game, which makes it feel more like an extension than a distinct new experience.
Overall, while it’s a decent addition with some entertaining moments, a bit more content and gameplay variety would have made it way more worthwhile.

So this one is kinda bonkers. All of the episodes have insane setups, nicely short runtimes (so they don't get old) and focus on few things each.1) Number One Fan - Just an insane romp straight out of a disgusting pink brain of a delusional & fanatical maniac. Very heavy on combat, quippy dialog and has a nice boss fight near the end. 100/100
2) North Star - Play as a Jesse from Control and battle insane coffee monsters. YOU MUST PERCOLATE... 95/100
3) Time Breaker - Insanely creative and full of meta narrative that weaves Quantum Break even more into the AW2/Control universe. 90/100.

Three short chapters featuring familiar characters from Alan Wake / Control multiverse tell mostly silly stories, but it's the way the tell them that matters. It's Remedy at it's peak, and the DLC is very fun despite (or maybe because) of its length, since each of the stories ends right when you start to become bored with it.Updated 1 Month Ago

Pros:+ ABSOLUTELY INSANE CROSSOVER STORIES HAD ME JUMPING ON MY COUCH LIKE TOM CRUISE
+ I’m so glad they leaned into being trippy & goofy for these side stories, it was a joy to play & witness
+ The lore in #3 is SO GOOD. It had me trembling with excitement for where the story can go in the next DLC + future Remedy games! THE POTENTIAL OF THIS IS SO COOL!!! THE IMPLICATIONS REALLY BLEW MY MIND OMG
Cons:
- Still wish the performance mode was better looking & quality mode was less choppy

Alan Wake 2: Night Springs is a great addition to the base game.Interspersing the episodes of the DLC throughout the main game is a great idea.
The episodes are extremely fun and do a fantastic job of further developing established characters.
I love how varied the gameplay is, from classic action surrounded by a hilarious storyline to an intense text adventure game.
The story and scenes are very entertaining, while at the same time being completely unexpected.
The developers at Remedy are doing an excellent job of weaving an interconnected web between all of the characters throughout their games.

3 Twilight Zone style episodes, about an hour each. Like that they could go even wackier because of how it's presented as apart of the show.My ranking of episodes would go 3>1>2. Episode 3 has a lot of unique moments in it, they ran wild.

Episode 1: Number One Fan - 41mins (8/10)I don't know if the rating 8 out of 10 is fair, because it was a whole lot of fun. Rose is hilarious. Her crush for Alan and her subsequent quest to save him from him evil twin brother with a semi-automatic shotgun which has an almost infinite amount of bullets is hilarious. The boss fight was fun. All-in-all an enjoyable little side step of the main story of Alan Wake.
Episode 2: North Star - 36mins (6/10)
Well, this was a letdown... I knew we were going to control (no pun intended) Jesse so I was hopeful we would be using her full set of powers. Unfortunately that's not the case. This part of the game is set in Coffee World, which I like but the puzzles (math!!) and combat are uninspiring and the story itself seems to contradict Control. It was OK, but I didn't love it.
Episode 3: Time Breaker - 45mins (9/10)
I like how this episode really changes things around, like all other episodes you get plastered with ammo and health for some reason. Combat is nothing special, but this one with the actor Shawn in the limelight at least is super creepy. You explore different scenes of Alan Wake, but the story is distinct (even though it's still intertwined with the main narrative). It was satisfying and the way this game uses different gameplay modes it's very refreshing.

The Night Springs DLC for Alan Wake 2 is a quick little reminder that the Remedy universe still exists. It's serves as a desert to the main course. For 30 dollars, I wouldn't really recommend it, it doesn't add much more to the actual story of the game. Instead it offers it's own version of "twilight zone episodes" inspired by the game. You could read into it a bit deeper as it fleshes out Mr. Door a bit more, but aside from that it's mostly throw-away story vignettes. Out of the three stories, one is quite entertaining and laugh out loud funny. The other two are mostly walking simulators with easy gameplay and puzzles. If you're a Remedy fan, then it's an obvious must buy, but if not, maybe just wait until it comes in a bundle with the main game for cheap.Updated 5.5 Months Ago

Pros:- Amazing stories, providing opportunities to look deeply into each character.
- Remedy special attention to every detail - every dialogue, writtings on the walls and banners, company logos, all readable texts, objects and etc.
- Combat feels very good due to insane amount of resources that game gives you (on Normal difficulty, not playing other ones). So it almost felt like third-person shooter.
- Stunning visual and audio design in every episode. Everuthing is just perfect about it. Nothing interupts you from feeling the world of the Night Springs.
Cons:
- Stories are very short, want so much more of them!
- Questinable minus - there are now much more questions then before DLC 😀
Overall impression:
- Absolutely lovely DLC. It showed up that Remedy is still in its best shape. Perfectly written and directed stories, mind-blowing attention to every small detail, easter eggs, hilarious jokes and humor, paralles universes, meta and multiverses. Sure, gameplay is not so various (except some moments in 3rd episode), but it is not making any effect on such short DLC. Awesome, I absolutely love it!

Updated 5.5 Months Ago

I liked the original alan wake 2, however I didnt love it as much as everyone else. This is definitely a weird game, and I found myself having trouble understanding the many twists and turns of the plot and points, and how each of the weird set pieces interacted with the overall story and what they could each represent. Night springs does away with this by the fact that their is no overall plot, instead replaced with 3 smaller stories. While I don't think any of these stories are better than the base game, I think they are all very interesting, especially with how they interact with the wider Remedy universe. The first episode was probably my least favorite, but I still had an amazing time playing it. I laughed multiple times during it due to its more ironic tone. The 2nd episode is better, going from a more ironic action packed episode, to a slower more survival horror based one. The last episode is honestly more story focused than anything, with so many unique scenarios and moments that I think it may be my favorite.
This DLC is much less survival horror focused than the main game combat wise, giving you plenty of ammo and resources to have literally no problem going thru. I think this really highlighted for me how fantastic the gunplay in this game really is, along with how detailed the environments your going thru are. I've seen people compare this to American nightmare from the first game, however I don't think that's true. Sure this is a lot more combat focused than the main game, however I'd argue that the main focus of this DLC is just to explore the weird world of Alan Wake, and all the multiverseal concepts that can come from that.
Overall I enjoyed my short trip back into this game and I can easily recommend this to anyone who liked the original game. Sure it is a bit short and doest really add anything to the original game, but it does a great job giving the same vibe as the main story, and I think many fans will appreciate that.

Episode 1 - Earnestly silly and genuinely funny from start to finish. Probably by my favorite out of the threeEpisode 2 - Getting to play as Jessie again is a lovely surprise and the full auto pistol is great and fun to use. There's one puzzle that initially annoyed me but when I figured it out it felt extremely satisfying. Only real con is the instant kill stealth section at the end which sucked.
Episode 3 - Probably the craziest out of the three with it's multiverse premise and using many different form of media. Taking Meta to new levels.
Also that Night Springs song is great and I want to download it now.
Great DLC that's a bit on the short side but still an amazing romp that takes Alan Wake 2 to even weirder and wilder places.

If you loved the base game of Alan Wake II like I did, you'll very likely like this DLC, and you'll probably like it even more if you're a fan of remedy's past games. I have no major comments on Episode 1. It was certainly the funniest episode, but it was somehow also the most normal of them all. It starts off a bit slow but get's into it's own identity eventually. 8/10
I think episode 2 was slightly underwhelming, and I was particularly excited for that one as it is the episode where you play as Control's Jesse Faden. However, it was still pretty good. (not explicit story spoilers, but my issue with the story:) I know these episodes are what-ifs, but it felt like a bit of a tease to include Jesse and not really have any development for her character here at all, even in the "fake universe" that the episode takes place in, and then a quite abrupt ending. I think episode 2 was a bit of a victim of it's own wierdness. 7/10
Episode 3 was excellent. I can't really add anything without spoiling, but if you like the metafictional elements of Alan Wake II, you'll love this one, and it was a little bit longer than the others. I can tell a very good amount of the budget of the DLC went here. 9/10
None of the episodes introduce any major new gameplay mechanics, but I didn't really expect them to.
My largest complaint is the <2 hour runtime for my regular playthrough. I did some light looking around and read most of the documents I found, but I don't imagine the most indepth playthrough could take more than ~2h30. I think it was just good enough to justify the price that I paid for the deluxe upgrade, given there will also be another DLC coming out soon.
