I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread where people can discuss about new games that require social backing, like on Kickstarter. It may be a bit controversial, but quite a few good games came out of these and I think that sometimes there are creative minds out there that need our help. Some games might turn good, some average and some bad. But who knows?!

These are a few games that come to mind, that were crowdfunded and ended up behing good or very good games. I know that a lot of crap came out of these projects, but it goes to show that sometimes, great things do come out of these campaigns:

- Shovel Knight
- Hyper Light Drifter
- Superhot
- Broken Age
- Darkest Dungeon
- Undertale
- Shantae: Half-Genie Hero
- The Fall
- The Flame in the Flood
- Hollow Knight
- Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night (not yet released but looks awesome so far)
- Yooka-Laylee
- Psychonauts 2 (not yet released but I'm hoping it will be as good as the 1st game)

If you see a new project that looks promising, post it here! Maybe it will catch the attention of a few members. Personally, I've seen and/or played many games that were promoted on Kickstarter and some of them gave me quite a lot of fun. Maybe together, we will be able to spot the projects with the most potential!

The first game I'd like to share is called "Lunark". It looks like a mix between the original Prince of Persia and Flashback. It is promoted as such too. It looks like the game is in very early development at the moment, but the guy behind the game seems to have some experience.

The footage shown in tente campaign looks interesting: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/canarigames/lunark. This campaign ends in four days, on February 21st.

While we're still looking at success stories as well - the best experience I've had backing a game has been The Banner Saga.

Not only did it turn out to be a great game, but the devs were very transparent and stuck to their vision and scope wonderfully. They delivered in a timely manner and made one of my favourite series of recent years...

Unfortunately I tend not to back anything at all these days because I've been burned too many times to want to take the risk anymore - hopefully this thread might recommend some good campaigns though, so looking forward to what comes up =)

Wasteland 2 was good and Pillars of Eternity (and the sequel) were great. You mentioned Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night isn't out yet, but as a backer reward, they released Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon which was a good game in its own right. Kingdom Come: Deliverance was another good RPG from kickstarter. Divinity Original Sin 1 & 2 are argued to be some of the best RPGs to come out in recent years and they came about because of kickstarter.

There are many good games that came out of crowd funding. That's why I wanted to start a thread on this. I'm not on Kickstarter all the time and I might miss what looks like a good video game project. Hopefully, members will notice interesting projects and post about them here.

I know that Ritual of the Night is not out yet. But I'm very confident in the quality of it. I'm happy to see that IGA and his teams are also posting regular updates about the game and the latest trailer that was made available in the past few days got me really excited. I had pledge on the physical copy tier and I did complete Curse of the Moon a few days ago. I liked it, it was fun, but not enough to make me go through it again to see different endings.

Also, I'm really enjoying Battle Princess Madelyn which I backed in a heart beat. The game is well done, controls are good and the music is perfect for this game. It's an amazing tribute to Super Ghouls'n Ghosts and the story mode in original.

I haven't posted here in a while. I found a few interesting Kickstarters for games I will share here.

This looks awesome!

Also, the Yacht Club one looks just... fine. I think I've expected more after Shovel Knight, but I'm sure it will be a good game.

The artstyle is amazing for this one! Hopefully the gameplay can feel as fluid as my imagination think it is :)

Thanks for posting it!
