Pros: VVVVVV is quite a difficult platformer with fun mechanics that are taught well. Neutral: The game has optional trinkets that reward exploration or completing a difficult challenge. However, 2 trinkets are much harder than the rest and there is no achievement for collecting all of the trinkets.
Cons: A few of the achievements require multiple playthroughs of the game. Even though the game is only a few hours long, everything besides the gameplay is only ok, so I don't think going for multiple playthroughs is worth it.

反转重力的平台跳跃,放在十五年前是很有创意的独立游戏。简约的美术设计和悦耳的音乐也让整个游戏不那么折磨,总体难度不算太高,只可惜流程太短了。Updated 1.5 Months Ago

Awesome platform game, the visuals can sometimes be trippy. It could benefit of running at 60fps as it would get a more fluid movement, luckily you can disable the background animations.Updated 4.5 Months Ago

Great platformer, a bit frustrating at times because you have to be very precise with the flip mechanic, but the rooms are well designed and progressing through levels feels good. Not much story because its a platformer, but the objective is to rescue the lost crew mates on a ship.
Awesome music, the tracks will get your blood pumping.

Full review at https://pastebin.com/0NqrYEHgThis game seriously surprised me!; was not expecting to complete it at all. I've been intending for a while to try it out. I was under the impression that the game was an indie exclusive to the 3DS as a 'nindie', and remembered seeing it on the eShop back in the day in my late childhood on a regular basis, and thinking of it as "the game with the weird name" 😆. Being a cheap indie 3DS game; both in price and probably budget, I was not expecting such a superb game! When I first booted it up, the music had it's own nice unique retro vibe to it, which prompted me to listen to it through (I'm listening to it as I type; I can't get over how good it is!). I was still at this point expecting the full OST to be a somewhat generic retro chiptune that was just a little catchy, but GOD I did NOT expect it to be such an absolute BANGER. Seriously, this games retro OST is an absolute banger! One of the best retro styled OST's I've ever heard!
Getting into gameplay, I wasn't overly impressed from the get-go, but wasn't unimpressed either. After all, I wasn't expecting a high quality game and I had no idea at this point that this is considered to be an "indie classic" in the indie game community. So, the thing I first noticed was that the controls felt kind of slippery. Somehow though, this didn't make it frustrating. The slipperiness of the controls didn't make the challenges any less fun. In fact, I think they would've been a bit too easy had they been tight.
The story is simple: You and your crew were transported to and crashed their ships in another dimension. The dimension is extremely unstable and all the crew members (including yourself) were teleported each to a random location across the world map-- that's right "world map". This game is technically a metroidvania which I did not expect at all. However, unlike every other metroidvania' I've played, this one does not block progression into certain areas by locking you out until you find items and/or abilities. The only thing locking you out from areas are the challenges themselves. You can go anywhere in the whole map as long as you have the skill to get there. I like that the whole world map is displayed on the bottom screen at all times with it being filled out as you explore
So, back to gameplay!. It's fun! 😆... obviously. The challenges in the game get extremely difficult and require precision timing. Sometimes the movement of objects is even hypnotic, and sometimes your brain can hardly keep up with what it needs to intepret! (this is my experience on the 3DS) I had a few times where I had to brain-rackingly stare at the challenge for over a minute as though I was trying to crack an optical illusion and break out of my false mental interpretation of what I was looking at, just so I could figure out a way to push through. This really boded well with the 'other-dimensional' vibes of the game, and combined with the phenomenal 'other-dimensional' vibes of the OST, it really felt like I was stuck in some other 2 dimensional dimension with infinite lives, trying to fight my way out. That's immensely impressive for a game trying to be graphically and gameplay wise the most simplistic you can get.

A perfectly adorable platformer targeting nostalgia for old 8-bit computers like Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum. With the simple gimmick that you can't jump - you flip the gravity upside down instead.
The gimmick is fun, the controls are good - if a bit floaty, but I suppose that's intentional when trying to emulate the C64 style - while the graphics and music are genuinely great. The story is basic but good enough for what it is.
A perfectly agreeable time. Frustrating at times, but not so difficult to be impossible.

The dark souls of platforming, exept the stamina meter is a sanity meter and it's in real life.Tightly packed platformer, revolving around a flip mechanic with no jumping. The soundtrack for the game is really solid and the graphics simplicity complements the gameplay. Midgame involved really trippy frame wraparound that hurt my brain. To collect all Trinkets is a fun challenge and gets you the good ending, highly recommend.

An indie classic that I never got around to playing until now. Overall I enjoyed the light challenge and platforming elements, the soundtrack is a banger and the visuals and SFX are simple but effective. My only main criticism would be the controls. I would classify this game as part precision-platformer and as such it would benefit from tighter controls, your character just feels too slippery which can lead to some frustration in spots, but the game is not that difficult so it's not a big negative.

HOLY SHIT did I not expect that. It's just a short and sweet game that doesn't overstay it's welcome, with some pretty challenging stuff, but not hair-pulling difficult (for the most part lol). The game controls really tight, and the music is absolutely phenomenal.
I finished this game in one sitting, which I did not expect. All in all, just a really well-made game.
