Amazing WWII RTS that was one of the best in the genre when it came out in 2006 and still holds up very well today. I recently played through the excellent original single-player campaign again and was not disappointed.

Starting on the beaches of Normandy, and progressing through villages and towns where you battle against the German occupiers, this was a really enjoyable and challenging experience.

This version also includes the Opposing Fronts and Tales of Valor expansions.

Not the best RTS game ever made, it has too little macro for my tastes, has too small a scope, and too hard a counter system. But I can absolutely see why this game has become a classic of the genre, beloved by those who love the setting or the squad based, micro-heavy gameplay. The campaign tells a solid story and offers acceptable though not spectacular mission variety.

Excellent RTS that follows the classic formula of building and resource recollection. You do not control many units as in Age of Empires but still creates great battles.

The campaign is good enough to have you interested on the story with decent variation of scenarios and objectives.

Campaign somewhat a bore nothing new not challenging but the gameplay is just amazing, multiplayer is where its at. This game shines in multiplayer it's so challenging and strategical with quite a bit of options on how you want to build you're army and Graphics are ok nothing spectacular the physics are also nice.Very high replay value and super fun with friends or just competitive play.
Best RTS plain and simple.

While the game did not age well, this is still the best WWII RTS you'll find. If you're a fan of RTS games, you'll probably rate it 10 for all it has to offer. However, for RTS plebs such as me, you'll find yourself overwhelmed by the depth and the steep difficulty curve in the campaign.

Any fans of fast-paced RTS titles will want to get out and grab a copy of Company of Heroes when it hits stores later this week. It's one of the best exercises in real-time strategy that's come around in some time. It take existing conventions and make them digestible to veterans while pushing the genre forward into new territory by insisting that players get out of their foxholes and rush the enemy lines using quickness and cunning rather than simple overwhelming force. There are so many tricks up the sleeves of various units and Command Trees that it will undoubtedly make for some good watching to see the action between a excellent teams of players.

While there are a couple of mistakes such as the pathfinding issues with vehicles, there's very little to criticize. Gameplay is fun, addictive, fast, exciting, and will likely stay fresh for a long time. Both visuals and sound have been given great attention to brilliant effect. The transformation from a idyllic little town into a heap of crushed buildings and burned out husks of vehicles can be shocking. Seeing and hearing major explosions that cause bodies (and bits of bodies) to fly across the screen along with rubble from a nearby building simply puts you more into the battle than any RTS in memory.

Even those folks that aren't major fans of the World War II setting should at least give the demo a look before deciding to discount the game. Company of Heroes is definitely a game you don't want to let slip by.
