Not a Hero is a continuation of the end of the game involving more of the mine which acts as it’s level. It unfortunately is reliant what I feel is the weakest point of the game that being the combat. It lacks a lot of the puzzles which are dealt with in the game and becomes more of a metroidvania (get an item that opens up the next area). However it does make you powerful enough to take on the enemies and enough ammo and it still has the feel of the base game so it’s not all bad.Updated 1 Month Ago

It's alright but I wasn't a fan of the endless spawning of enemies at times. Especially wasn't a fan of the section where you have to run past a bunch of those white enemies in narrow hallways so you're guaranteed to get hit. And then this DLC really didn't add anything to the story. It's fine though and kind of feels a bit like a Metroidvania.Updated 2 Months Ago

This game has a two-prong problem, and they're bad when working in conjunction: Enemies that regenerate within seconds, unless you use special ammo, and narrow hallways before you get this special ammo. I mention that at the start because I really can't think of any other real problem with this game – It works as a good epilogue to the main story, it has a few decent, if predictable, twists, it amps up the action yet keeps the horror alive, and the level design is intricate. The locations are memorable, and there is a good fluctuation in tones from location to location, as there's one open area where over a dozen enemies come at you simultaneously, however the layout allows you to make relatively quick work of them, while there are crammed hallways where the enemies are around corners, forcing you to run past or fall back from time to time to get a beat on them, and then there's one part where you are trapped in an enclosed space, where the enemy sends numerous of these enemies in at you, which would've been brutal if I hadn't saved my grenades and shotgun ammo, which ended up necessitating only a single First Aid Spray. Like the main game, the game is pretty hard overall, but it feels a lot harder than it actually is – it's because, like Doom 3, the enemies are very deadly, despite your heavy arsenal, so despite there being numerous long stretches without any enemies, the game remains high-tension throughout, because you don't know if the enemy is nearby or not until you've engaged them, and each one is intimidating. Overall, quite good!Updated 7 Months Ago

a mostly fun bit of DLC dragged down by some really bullshitty trial and error— I get that Lucas is an asshole who doesn't play fair, but that doesn't mean that has to extend to the actual gameplay with multiple instances of "whoops you didn't do this the 'right way' on the first try so now you're dead" (don't even get me started on the "locked in the bunker" zombie rush, which is a solid contender for worst gameplay sequence of the year for me)— even the final boss with mutated Lucas that should be way more fun ended up taking multiple attempts thanks to attack telegraphing that all looks the same resulting in even more bullshitty deaths. I mean, you get to shoot your guns more, which is I guess what Capcom thought fans wanted more of— not meUpdated 1 Year Ago

Explain nothing and let me just redo the three phases of a sequences everytime i screw up. Ok? God, why does some games today still have to be that way?Anything else was fine, but this trial and error sometimes. Annoying AF!

Buona aggiunta al gioco base, con un paio di momenti e trovate un po' più action. Considerando che mi è stato sbloccato semplicemente terminando il gioco base è stata sicuramente una piacevole aggiunta.Updated 2.5 Years Ago

Quite decent piece of DLC with more combat overall (adds a new melee move). Slightly more linear, but there's still a little bit of exploration to be done and some missable rooms. Kind of wish it did a little more with the story, basically continues the ending from the base game and things go as you'd expect more or less.Updated 2.5 Years Ago

I don’t know why they felt the need to give Chris plastic surgery and a voice change, but otherwise this was a really fun change of pace for RE7 and had a cool twist on the story too.Updated 2.5 Years Ago

8/10Fun DLC. I've only played this and banned footage thus far, but I'd say I enjoyed this more. Puzzles aren't -too- difficult but still are difficult. Ending boss fight really fun, and the weapons are fun to shoot.
Curious to see if Village ties this DLC to Chris Redfield.

First part where you're running around blindly trying to figure what the heck you're doing or where you're going combined with unkillable enemies and extreme darkest at the start, not fun. Other stuff is pretty great though, like chasing the RE version of Jigsaw and there's an area that really has the feels of RE2 in VR especially!8.5/10

As a free epilogue of the main game, it's not bad. Very short, with repeated enemy types in the abandoned mine area from the main game; which is easily my least favorite area of that game. Oddly enough the game diverges a bit into old-school RE territory that I really liked. But by that point the game is basically over. I would have loved to have explored more of that area. In addition, most of the puzzles feel simplistic and shoehorned in for the sake of it being a RE game. Overall I did enjoy my brief experience with what is free bonus content, but anyone else expecting more will be severly dissapointed.Updated 6.5 Years Ago
