The single greatest metroidvania ever made, and one of the best games I've ever played with a lot of parts that are perfect. Yet, it's somehow still better than the sum of its parts.

- The platforming is precise, responsive, fluid, and some of the best in any game with 2d platforming. I feel like the platforming along with the shadow dash and sharp shadow charms and all the other advancements becomes the greatest reason of feeling a sense of progression in the game, even moreso than the combat. You start off the game barely able to make your way through the maze that is hallownest, slowly but surely making your way forward and by the end you're zooming through the map with ease.

- Speaking of the map, it's wonderful. It is HUGE, but the end of my time with the game I could traverse the entire thing with barely any need to actually check the map and I normally suck at remembering directions in games. It just feels natural to move through, with each memorable location becoming a landmark in your head and veins feeding in and out of these places to lead to another location.

- Hallownest is dead, sure, but it feels so damn alive. The vibe is melancholic and lonely and yet also so utterly captivating. The game is beautiful. (2d art go brrr these designs are so damn good)

- The lore is amazing. enough said, I'm no mossbag.

- The combat. I didn't quite get how good it really was till Godmaster.

I've gotten all radiants and done literally everything in the game except for all bindings p5 and no-hit p5. Yet i still feel the urge to go back and play some more.

Even though it starts like a Souls like game it eventually become a hack and slasher rogue like.

The game play may look same as other platformers but the ability and the charms make it dream play.

It has a nice and confusing story. Its something you have to figure out on your own by interacting with the NPCs most of the time. Thats another cool aspect for the people who wants to know the story.

I bought this game 4 years ago and put it down because it felt so hard but today I finished it with an Awe.

A must play game. I would highly recommend it. If you are confused with all the maps and stuffs please do use the guides no shame on it.

I thought that finishing a randomized run while only going for the final boss would take much longer but it ended up going pretty fast. The randomized aspect adds so much more variety to the game and makes it more interesting to replay. It is especially fun when you're racing against someone else like I was.

Hollow Knight non è paragonabile a nessun gioco che io abbia mai giocato. Penso che sia una delle cose più belle che l' uomo abbia mai creato. Non solo lo stile, le ambientazioni ed il combat system, ma ogni cosa, dalle musiche divine alle peculiarità di ogni personaggio e nemico, può essere definito un capolavoro. Hollow Knight si può definire come un piatto di un ristorante stellato, dove sono presenti tutti gli elementi più ricercati del mondo, che insieme formano un capolavoro. Questo gioco mi ha fatto scoprire un genere a me totalmente estraneo e che se ne sentivo parlare lo skippavo, e me ne ha fatto innamorare perdutamente, fino ad arrivare alle sere dove avevo poco da fare e mi mettevo a cercare sullo store della play, tutti i Metroidvenia possibili e immaginabili che avrei potuto giocare. Hollow Knight mi ha cambiato non solo come giocatore, ma anche come persona, e non tutti i giochi riescono farlo.

While it's still super solid, I'm not as crazy about this indie darling as most people are. It's certainly challenging. And creepy, this game scared me with that fucking spider part, ew. My biggest critique would be that the game requires lots of backtracking and tedium, especially with the lack of pre-boss checkpoints.

I started this replay because the game was free to play on the Switch for a few days. Originally, I only planned to play for a few hours, but the game sucked me right back in, and I couldn’t put it down. Replaying it made the base game feel much easier. I remember when I first played it three years ago—it was so stressful at times. I worried constantly about losing my money when I died, and the map/level layout felt quite confusing at the start.

Now, three years later, everything felt a lot more relaxed. I remembered quite a bit from last time, which made navigating and fighting smoother. The map is tiny on the Switch, and a better zoom-in option would be great, but that’s probably my only complaint about the Switch port compared to PC. The game ran super smoothly, and the graphics were as gorgeous as ever. I absolutely love love LOVE the art style, and paired with the soundtrack, it creates such a beautiful, melancholic atmosphere.
Everything - the sound design, the animations, the background art, the dialogue, the characters, the quiet rest moments in between – works perfectly together as one beautiful vision.

Playing it for a second time (and watching an extensive lore video) helped me understand the story, dialogue, and lore more fully, so I could really appreciate all the little details Team Cherry put into the game.
Also, the little Knight is just so charming and cute. You gotta love the little guy.

Combat was fun, aside from a few incredibly annoying enemies (I hate Primal Aspids with a burning passion). At the beginning, I struggled a bit because my brain was still wired to Dead Cells, and I kept wanting to roll instead of dash, which sounds similar, but makes for a big difference.

The final fight against the Hollow Knight is just SO good. It has a good level of difficulty and fun attack patterns, plus the music and storytelling during the fight are just amazing—and heartbreaking. It makes for a perfect "first ending" of the game.
Of course, with Hollow Knight, the end is just the beginning, and the true final boss is the Radiance. Unfortunately, that means the fight with the Hollow Knight loses a lot of its charm, becoming more of an annoying obstacle you have to repeat over and over to get to the truly difficult part.

It’s very doable to get decent/good at the game, but mastering it is another story (at least for me). I haven’t managed to beat the Radiance, the Dream bosses, or the last level in the arena (yet).
The arena, in particular, was really frustrating because I got so close at the end, but repeating all the fights over and over started to wear on my nerves. So, I decided to take a break, but I definitely want to come back and finally beat the arena (and see the true ending).

BUT at least I managed to beat the Path of Pain! It really is a pain in the ass—it took me around six hours—but hey, I did it! I actually really liked the platforming in the White Palace, but the Path of Pain is truly something else. And all that suffering just for a 2s cut scene *sigh*

I truly adore this game and it would be an easy 10/10 for me, if some of the parts wouldn’t be as tedious as they are (like having to beat the HK over and over or the length of the third arena level)

A flawless Metroid-Vania that deserves all the credit it has received. It’s vague in descriptions and what to do , but as soon as you jump down the well you can go either way and start exploring. The multiple pathways and peppering of abilities is excellent. The uniqueness comes from the badges to customise your build from exploring badges to skillful ones, there is always thought of what I was using. The bosses are tough but never unbeatable if you learn their move sets and take it slow. Masterclass

After playing the entirety of the mainline Metroid franchise, I was itching for another Metroidvania-type game so with a suggestion of a friend of mine, I decided to pick up this game, and man I'm so happy I did, This beautiful 2D Metroidvania with beautiful backgrounds and atmosphere is one of the best games I've played. Although challenging, The game's difficulty is compensated by its excellent upgrades and charm system which I needed to tinker with extensively cause even with them, I was getting beat by the bosses left and right but it is because of the way these bosses were designed to be tough and challenge that makes this game exceptional to play and experience as I have a drive to keep on getting back and fighting them again.

Awful sistem of fast travel. Bosses are mediocre, the mechanic is preatty easy but in most cases you are dealing with the boss, a minion that had summoned or 2-3 shits traveling around the screen.
Also, cannot skip credits and most scenes/dialogues

+ Probably one of my fav art styles in all of gaming, it’s my aesthetic to a tee minus all the spiders in Deepnest ewww
+ Moment to moment gameplay is very satisfying
+ NPCs are all perfect & need to be protected at all costs
+ OST rocks
+ Despite the level design not fully clicking with me I still did like exploration, it felt rewarding more often than not

Cons:
- I’ve been a Metroid stan since I was in elementary school, so it pains me to say the level design didn’t click with me as much as I wanted it to. I liked it for sure & every environment is beautiful & atmospheric beyond belief but actually playing it didn’t grip me as much as Metroid does
- I know it’s not the right genre for this complaint but story is very important to me when I’m playing a game & while I liked what’s here, I would’ve loved for it to be more prevalent. Because aside from the artstyle being 100% perfect this game isn’t sticking in my mind much after finishing it which breaks my heart as I’ve wanted to play it for years now. I feel like I don’t have as much to say as I thought I would after finishing Hollow Knight.

Unbelievably good game. The world design has incredible depth, with so many branching paths and options, and is similarly gorgeous due to the games beautiful art style. The movement and combat feel amazing, making combat encounters satisfying and entertaining. I wish there was more challenge in the bossfights, and it can definitely be frustrating to get stuck trying to find progression, but I don't feel like those are necessarily problems with the game. An amazing game to achievement hunt as well if that if your kind of thing.

По ходу втягиваешься в мир и лор игры, которые являются очень интересной её частью. Однако из-за специфики жанра, игра время от времени превращается в душную беготню туда сюда, но все плюсы этой игры заставляет тебя идти до конца, восхищаясь этой дарк фэнтези сказкой.

Almost perfect, but no game gets 100%. If I’m being picky, the controls were somewhat finicky at times, and the story made zero sense to me. I definitely had to consult guides or I would have had no idea what to do. And I also didn’t really enjoy having to constantly swap out my charms for different scenarios/bosses - I prefer games geared towards sticking with one build. But honestly, it’s one of the best Metroidvania games I’ve played.
