5.5/10Yeah, playing as Jill is fun, but beyond that... there isn't much.
The combat is still fund and the environment looks good, but the entire DLC is basically just running around, shooting some guys, shooting some guys some more, opening a door or two, then an annoying finale that is more frustrating than it is challenging.
Not anywhere near the fun ambiance and callbacks of Lost In Nightmares, but again, playing as Jill is at least worth something.

The ending of this was absolutely dreadful, but as with Lost in Nightmares it's a neat addition otherwise. Not sure why they'd introduce Doug only to kill him off like 10 minutes later, but I guess they didn't wanna retcon the ending or something.
I guess it's worth a shot if you wanna find out what happens, but be prepared for an awful gauntlet of an ending.

I really enjoyed this. Better than most chapters in OG, great balance with ammo/weapons, challenging but not frustrating. Play this if you enjoyed Ada bonus level in RE4!Updated 1.5 Years Ago

Despite Desperate Escape's well-crafted action sequences, I actually found myself missing the unique vibe of Lost in Nightmares. The dynamic between Jill and Josh isn't particularly thrilling, and the one-liners, banter and endearing kitsch are kept to a minimum. As made apparent by the comments on our last review, Resident Evil 5 has a loyal fan base, and if you liked everything about that game, this is a short but sweet extension.Updated 14.5 Years Ago
