Things went wrong at the end of the third game, but how and why we ended up in this cave is still a mystery!

Darker atmosphere, but a lot of humour throughout so far, the puns and wordplay! I'm loving it so far.

That’s actually pretty funny. With all that went down, in terms of the big question I haven’t missed much. At least I’m caught up!

Started reading a bit further back, I think I figured out that lioness artwork you were scrutinizing. It looks like she’s sort of lounging with her back a little arched. It’s like we’re really seeing a side view with her legs obscured in front of her so they’re curled up underneath her. If you look closely you can kind of make out the curve of a left leg where it meets a hip.

It took a minute of staring but I was also quite puzzled as to what they were going for.

Been super busy and haven’t had a lot of game time lately, so things look quite a bit darker than when I was here last. It was already somewhat of a horror with all of the silly ways you could die, I suppose it was just a matter of time until the graphics matched! I’m a little confused as to how our hero ended up down there so I’ve got some catching up to do.

That’s it for Death’s Door. Despite my earlier complaints it’s still a good game. I probably would have gotten annoyed with the enemy swarms more but I just saw it as another way to grind. With that, even though it got tedious sometimes I would just take the long way back to get some extra souls along the way. Finished with 3 out of 4 skills maxed.

I get what they were going for but I kind of wish that the character portraits and text boxes weren’t so dark at night.

Nearly done with Death’s Door, it’s just the final boss I’m trying to beat. I decided to not go for true ending right now as I don’t feel like getting into the requirements. Also may have made it worse for myself by deliberately skipping flower pots. Did go for all the collectibles I could though.

I was fully expecting a full of himself final boss but that doesn’t seem to be the case. It’s just that no one wants to die.

Defeated the Urn Witch. Some time has passed between play sessions so there’s been some fumbling around for where to go. I’m also encountering the backtracking. Unlocking shortcuts on the map helps as I’m progressing, but having to travel back after failing at a boss is still annoying. It’s not a huge path usually, but it drags when you just want to jump right back into the action. I also find that I’m not having to use many seeds for health flowers. If I’m going to have to backtrack anyway due to dying I may as well use an earlier flower I planted along the way. I’ve just entered the Forest area.

Plot-wise, there’s something suspicious with who we’re working for. And the Lord of Doors. If this was a murder mystery they’d be my number one suspect.

Another one down! Maybe it was just the old saurus instincts kicking in for the emir.

Personally I loved it. A small cozy game with a cute mouse. Some platforming elements as you’re climbing everywhere and a little bit of collecting if you’re into that.

Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered has just been announced (earlier than I thought). The release date is February 14th 2025

I hope there are physical releases for this too. Now I’m wondering if the Legend trilogy will get the remake treatment. It looked fine, but I’ve heard that Underworld could use a little more work.

Started Death’s Door. I’m displeased how I’ve been dragged into someone else’s mess but the controls are good and I’m interested. I died once at the first real boss. Cleared it on my second try without upgrading yet. Currently outside the witch’s mansion in the gardens. So far my only real complaint is that I would have liked a map so I could find my way directly back to healing spots. Love the title cards though.

Fitting for the upcoming spooky season, I'd actually never heard of this "game" until now.

Aw, I was hoping that Julanar would be restored to herself. Game's not over yet, maybe there'll still be something later? The Earth elemental's looking kinda menacing. I actually looked this battle up myself and maybe it's the claustrophobia but there's a certain tense atmosphere here.

I recently discovered the ebook management software, calibre. https://calibre-ebook.com/

It's such a great software to keep track of my ebooks and send them to my kindle (including automatically converting etc.). It has all features I'd want but is still very easy to handle. It's free of charge and open source.
Just a recommendation in case someone else is looking for a software like this. I discovered it by looking for a way to send pdf-format books to my kindle (which is very old, like one of the first models I'm sure, and does not accept pdf).

Also I want to quickly rant about my headphones (I guess the type is called in-ear headphones). I had headphones before that would sometimes have trouble to connect via bluetooth, these are the opposite. They randomly connect, even when inside their box. I have two pairs of headphones and when my phone is connected with the second type (over-head headphones?) it happens very often - like multiple times a day and at absolutely random times - that the in-ear headphones connect ALSO, without any interaction of mine. And then all audio goes to the in-ear headphones. Super fun when I'm in an important call with a client and suddenly stop hearing them, calling "are you still there" until I realise what happened and start running through my house to find the fricking in-ear headphones (or disconnect them through phone settings). Makes me look very professional to the client, I'm sure.

Also they somehow, I'm not even sure how but there must be a (non-labeled, not easily visible) button on them, to start the Audible app on my phone. Start Audible! Not wake it up or something but literally start an app on my phone that's not currently running and get it to start playing the current audio book. I have so often had to rewind my audio books because I realised that my headphones had randomly and unnoticed by me started the playback god-knows-when and played for god-knows-how-long. What a crap load of a feature. Who comes up with that? I have to clip/bookmark my books now every single time I stop listening.

Also, in less ranty news, I've finished Galaxy in Flames yesterday and am starting Spear of the Emperor by Dembski-Bowden.

Can vouch for Calibre! I use its ebook conversion and editing tools. Very useful.

I pretty much leave my Bluetooth completely off unless I need it for something or else something ends up getting connected that I didn’t mean for. I had a pair of touch earbuds that I used to use just for listening to stuff but the controls didn’t work for me; I kept skipping past sections (among other things) so I’m mainly using wired these days. While a tad inconvenient at times, it won’t let you down.

Been a bit busy lately but I've been reading bits of The Thief Lord in between. I've never read it before but I have read some of the author's other books. Also picked up 4 others on my last library trip... I was supposed to be picking up 1 movie.

Finally, a Majima game! I still can't believe he's 60 years old
