Hi, and welcome to my gaming blog!
I've been playing video games ever since my childhood, and was what I spent my free time doing when I wasn't training at the dojo. Nowadays, I play when I have time. My first console was the PS2. And if my memory hasn't let me down yet, I think my first game was Digimon Rumble Arena 2. Today I have the following consoles: PS2-5, PSP, PS Vita, DS, 3DS, Wii and a Switch. My ipad plays some mobile games. I have a handful of GBA games as well, which I've played on my DS. I unfortunately don't really play many bigger games on PC because most of them don't run well on a potato. The potato is doing its best though.
Grew up playing games from mainly the Sonic, Pokémon, Sims and Yu-Gi-Oh! franchises, which I still play from time to time.
Most of the games I play are either anime-styled games (Like the Kingdom Hearts games) or games based on an already existing IP. These are, however, not the only types of games I have my eyes on. If the game interests me enough, I'll consider playing it. My favorite types of games are RPGs (JRPGs in particular), visual novels, horror (Especially psychological horror), simulations, rhythm games and strategy games. I refuse to play zombie games, and I avoid first-person shooters because I can't aim even if my life depended on it. If you have any recommendations, feel free to post them.
My backlog is relatively up to date. It contains all games that are on my shelf or digitally downloaded on respective console. There are some games that are missing from the list though - the games that are stored in the closet. Still haven't brought them out yet, so the backlog is actually a bit longer than the current list. I'll get around to them eventually.
I can't make any promises that this gaming blog will be very active (because, you know, life and other hobbies), but I will try to write here when I have some significant updates about the games I play.
Thanks for reading!

(I forgot to mention in my first post that I'll try to keep my comments/short reviews on this gaming blog as spoiler-free as possible, unless someone wants me to elaborate)
Recently completed games:
A Date With Death

"Death" himself contacts the protagonist through an online chat and insists on taking their soul. The protagonist, believing that this is some kind of prank (and kinda doesn't want to die yet), challenges "Death" to a bet. If he manages to kill the MC within a week, MC's soul will be his. Would he fail, his soul will belong to MC instead. How this story ends completely depends on the player's choices.
Pretty fun visual novel, but it takes ages to replay for achievements. And a lot of "choices" are pointless because the player has only one option to click, which makes me wonder why the game developer(s) even bothered to add a "choice" instead of having the MC answer automatically. Not only is it pointless, but it also interrupts the fastforward/skip read text. The MC owns a pet cat though, so all is forgiven. Overall, great for a free game. The DLC costs money though.
Do I recommend it? - Sure. If you're interested in this type of game.
Will I replay it? - Very unlikely
Alicemare

I've been wanting to read the Alicemare light novel for the longest time, but I wanted to play the game that it's based on first, so here we are.
It's a 2D adventure game with horror elements and some puzzles. The game has taken inspiration from multiple fairytales - such as Snow White or Little Red Riding Hood, but mostly from Alice in Wonderland. The game follows a young boy named Allen - an orphan who's suffering from amnesia. He arrives at an orphanage where he meets his new teacher and the other orphans, but when he goes to sleep, he ends up waking up to a nightmare. Allen must travel through the nightmares of the other children at the orphanage and - hopefully - help them wake up, while also trying to figure out what's going on.
A short game, but still enjoyable nontheless.
Do I recommend it? - Yes
Will I replay it? - Doubtful, but maybe in a year or two. Or at least after I've read the light novel, so I can compare them.
Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle (DLC)

The story continues as Eren & Co keeps fighting for humanity's future against the human-eating titans. An action-horror survival game that revolves around the player having to slay titants left and right, protect humanity and discover the truth about what the titans are. Based on the famous manga and anime Attack on Titan.
I played AoT 2 a few years ago. Bought the DLC when it was released, but never got around to actually play it. The DLC consists of an additional story mode that takes place after the main story of AoT 2. It also comes with a Territory Recovery Mode - a mode that allows you to have your own regiment, build it and re-take the territory that humanity has lost to the titans. It's a fun mode, but unlocking the characters can be a drag. Especially if you're looking for certain characters that rarely show up on the map. There's also a new way to eliminate the titans: guns and Thunder Spears. I personally prefer the traditional way, but each to their own.
The DLC itself is fun. My only problem with it - and the main game itself - is that the titans sometimes twitch a lot, which means that a lot of my attacks against them ended up being "Poor angle", because the blade missed the neck due to the titans twitching so much. Additionally, the titans are still "solid" even after they've died, so you can still bump into them and lose movement speed when you're trying to hurry and get rid of a group of titans as quickly as possible.
Do I recommend it? - Yes. This is a DLC to a sequel though, so keep that in mind.
Will I replay it? - Very likely. I need to replay some stages.
Little Misfortune

The game follows a little girl named Misfortune, a sweet and bright sunshine who is more or less living in hell. A toxic and abusive family, animals either hate her or die, Misfortune encounters danger and horrific situations wherever she goes. And to top it all; the narrator informs the player that Misfortune is going to die at the end of the day, at the age of 8. And if that wasn't enough, kids all over town are going missing. Misfortune can somehow hear the narrator, and agrees to play a game with him. In exchange, the narrator will award Misfortune eternal happiness for beating the game. Said game leads you to ask yourself about the world surrounding Misfortune, and who you can trust.
Oh, and she's in love with a fox. No, not one of those human characters with animal ears (Kinda looks like a human wearing a headband). I mean an actual fox. His name is Benjamin.
It's a side-scroller with an adorable artstyle. Fully voiced with hilarious dialogues. The game also requires the player to interact with the surroundings a lot. At times, the player can throw glitter on specific objects or people. Getting all "glitter spots" will lead to the "True ending".
You can't help but feel bad for Misfortune as she goes through her day. Unlucky in every aspect, yet still manages to remain cheerful. Poor child deserves better.
A tragic, yet amazing game. The creators of Little Misfortune have also created the game Fran Bow. Haven't played that game yet, and I have no idea what it's about - aside from the fact that it takes place in the same universe as Little Misfortune. Have added it to my wishlist.
Do I recommend it? - Absolutely
Will I replay it? - I've already done all there is to do in the game, so there's not exactly any need for me to replay it. Would like to watch others' reactions though.
Maglam Lord

Started playing it last year (2023), and got to chapter 4 (out of 9) before I put it on my Stalled/On-hold list. Picked it up again recently and finished it.
Maglam Lord is an action RPG game that follows the demon lord Killizerk. The player may choose if Killizerk is male or female. The demon lord has dangerous powers that could kill immortal beings. During the war between the deities and the demons, Killizerk is sealed away and eventually wakes up in a now peaceful Eusdeal. Almost every deity and demon is gone, and Eusdeal - now renamed "Arcadio" - is currently under the control of the Administration. But why is there an invisible wall right outside Arcadio? How come there's no history of what happened to the deities and demons? And...what is the Administraion?
Killizerk and allies will have to fight their way to the truth about the Administration and Arcadia. But due to Killizerk getting sealed away earlier, his/her powers are limited. Therefore, you can only play as Killizerk once the gauge reaches max in battle. Other than that, you're forced to use one of the other main characters. Fortunately, all characters will earn EXP after your missions/battles. Also, the player has the option to find love for Killizerk along the way (I chose Darius - a guy who swears to become a hero by slaying the demon lord.It clearly didn't end as he planned).
The combat in this game is pretty average, and has a typical type-advantage in regards to weapons. There's a total of three weapons to fight with: sword, spear and axe. You will bring all three with you on your mission, and you can change your weapon in combat whenever you want. The game will even tell you - on screen - which weapon your opponent is weak to. The monsters aren't exactly creative either. It's basically just the same 5 monsters throughout the game with just different colours. The colour determines how strong the monster is. Garbage final boss. Both because the character is trash (as a character), but also because the final battle is boring. It's far from a difficult battle. Just dragged out.
Do I recommend it? - If you want to buy it, buy it when it's on sale. There are better RPGs out there.
Will I replay it? - Not in the near future
My Hero One's Justice

A fighting game inspired by the popular manga and anime My Hero Academia.
A typical fighting game where two characters fight against each other on a stage with up to 2 support characters. You have a "Plus Ultra" bar, that allows you to use skill (Takes 1/3 from the bar) and ultimate (Takes 2/3 from the bar). The game's story mode is split up into two parts: Hero Story (Follows the protagonist and his friends/allies) and Villain Story (Follows the exact same story, but from the villains' perspective). Online matches are available, you can customize your profile card and...Well, the game is kinda broken. On multiple stages, you can literally trap your opponent in a corner and win the match without taking any damage at all. You can do this by simply punching the opponent without stopping. The opponent, staggering backwards, is unable to regain stability and physically can't do anything to either counter, block or dodge. I won several matches like this. And when the opponents weren't trapped, all they did was running away from me and jumping up and down. I ended up having to chase after them more than actually fighting them.
Started playing this game before COVID, but put it on my Stalled/On-hold list and didn't touch this game until now - in November 2024. Glad I was finally able to move it to "Completed" though. Finished it with 100% in Story Mode (Finished Hero Story, Villain Story and the extra stages that you unlock after finishing the Villain Story). Only played Story Mode though. That's more than enough.
Do I recommend it? - Eh
Will I replay it? - Not happening
My Hero One's Justice 2

The direct sequel to My Hero One's Justice. Definitely an improvement, and the gameplay felt better in comparison to its predecessor.
That being said, there's no way they actually tested the Core of the Plan stage in Villain Story. This was by far the worst stage in both games. It didn't matter what I tried. I couldn't do anything about the opponent's attacks. Blocking didn't work (His attack went through my block). Dodgning didn't work (His attack still hit). Counter-attack didn't work (His attack went through anyway). All my attacks were always interrupted, even the times when I should've had priority. The worst part is that you can't even choose whoever you want to play for the stage (in Story Mode). You have to play with the chosen character. What's odd is that it's only this particular opponent who does this nonsense. All other opponents work "normally" (My block actually blocks their attacks, counter-attack works and so on).
My other concern was the final boss of the game - also in Villain Story. In Hero Story, you play as the protagonist - Deku - and fight against the main villain: Chisaki/Overhaul. To be more specific, it's against Chisaki's final form. In Villain Story, you actually get to play as Chisaki's final form and fight against Deku. Cool on paper, not as fun in execution because the game doesn't explain how to battle in this form. The controls are the same, but the final form is painfully slow, and sometimes Chisaki outright wouldn't move. There is no stamina bar, and Deku hadn't knocked him down, so why did nothing happen when I was trying to attack? As if that wasn't enough, the final boss (which, in this case, was Deku) has multiple health bars and can heal himself whenever he activates his support. The amount of times I got him down to 5% HP, only for him to heal himself back up was...not fun, to say the least. I was eventually able to win by spamming skill and ultimate. Not my most honorable victory, but hey, I was playing as the villain, so it kinda fits.
Similar to the first My Hero One's Justice game, the game was bought years ago, and was collecting dust on the Stalled/On-hold list until very recently.
Do I recommend it? - I guess? Maybe?
Will I replay it? - Unsure. Maybe I'll do some missions, but I'm not interested at the moment. Never touching Villain Story again though.
Trapped With Jester

A very short psychological visual novel. Takes only a few minutes to complete. The protagonist wakes up in a carriage with a stranger - a jester - in front of them. Who is he? What does he want? Who knows. Ask him.
The game is free, voiced, and the Jester is kinda funny. Not bad.
Do I recommend it? - Eh, why not. It's free and doesn't take much time.
Will I replay it? - Probably not
~
Updates on games I'm currently playing:

- Fate/Grand Order: Obtained Enkidu (5*, Lancer). I've been waiting for a year for this walking clay pot. Tried rolling in March. Only did two multis, and ended up skipping because of another character. Currently waiting for Lostbelt 7 to be released for the global server.
- Honkai Star Rail: Obtained Dan Heng IL (5*, Imaginary) and his lightcone. Obtained Aventurine (Also 5*, Imaginary). As for the story, I only have some old events to do.
- Twisted Wonderland: The Playful Land event just ended. Managed to get an early SSR. Can't wait for the event's rerun next year. Still haven't started Book 7. Since Book 7 is still being updated, I'll start it once it's finished.
Added to wishlist:
Bramble: The Mountain King, Camp Sunshine, Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, Edens Zero, Fran Bow, Gensou Manège, Kingdom Hearts: Missing Link, Lover Pretend, Marvel's Spiderman Remastered, Metaphor: ReFantazio, Monark, Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance, Totally Accurate Battle Simulator, Sally Face
Other updates:
- Moved Spectrobes from "Retired" to "Stalled/On-hold"
- Put Genshin Impact on indefinite hiatus
Thanks for reading!
P.S. Would appreciate a recommendation for a Batman game (Consoles I own are in the first post).

Woo, new blog! Added Tapped with Jester to my backlog, looks like it could be interesting. If you haven't played the Batman Arkham games yet (I can personally voucher for Asylum and City), you should. They're very good games.

Hi, and thanks for your suggestions! They look interesting enough. Are there major differences between their PS3 releases and the Arkham Collection for PS4? Or can I choose whichever?
Hope you'll enjoy Trapped with Jester.

I've found some of my stored games, and have added them to my backlog:
- FIFA10 (PS3)
- FIFA12 (PS3) Pretty sure the two FIFA games came with the console. Not a big fan of football/soccer, and would never buy a FIFA game for myself.Might consider NHL games though.
- Metal Fight Beyblade: Chouzetsu Tensei Vulcan Horses(?) (PSP) Very confused about the title. Shouldn't it be Vulcan Horuseus? After the bey? The bey that came with the game, is owned by one of the characters, and is named after Horus??? Oh well. Not one of my stored games. I just forgot to add it.
- Samurai Jack: The Shadow of Aku (PS2) Didn't even know I had this game. I didn't watch many episodes of the show as a kid, even though I watched a lot Cartoon Network. 99% sure it was a gift from my dad.
I'll keep updating my backlog as I find more of my stored games. I know for a fact that I have a Final Fantasy game somewhere. Pretty sure it's on PS3.
Also, while looking for my stored games, I found both X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) and The Dark Knight (2008) on blu-ray, which I had no idea I had. They're still sealed.
Tried starting Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelists of the Roses (PS2), but it doesn't start. Screen goes black after the PS2 logo. No sound either - neither from the game nor from the PS2 itself. I've tried other games, and they work perfectly fine. It is a used game though, and I have seen discs in better condition than this one, so maybe it's just a damaged disc?
- FIFA10 (PS3)
- FIFA12 (PS3) Pretty sure the two FIFA games came with the console. Not a big fan of football/soccer, and would never buy a FIFA game for myself.

I don't know what the differences are. I played on PS3 and they were fine for me. I'd say go with whatever's cheapest.
