So, there's a bit of a problem with these two listings:

The first is ostensibly for the first entry in the Corpse Party series, but there are a few problems here. To begin, I don't know where 2006 came from, that year only corresponds to the mobile remake (New Chapter) of the original 1996 game that was never finished. Second, it's conflating both the 2008 PC version, Blood Covered, with the later 2010 PSP version, Blood Covered... Repeated Fear. This leads to the problem of the second listing, attributed to 2021, but the thing is that that version is just BCRF ported to new systems, not to mention 3DS before that in 2015. So really, there should be a listing for the originally 2008 version only on PC (BC), and then another listing for the 2010 and on version available on *deep breath* PSP/iOS/3DS/Switch/PS4/Xbox/PC (BCRF).

I'm pretty sure the "By Platform" is the average score per platform, not the number of reviews, so 67% and 75%

Which numbers aren't adding up? There's a slight rounding issue where the game should be rated 67% instead of 66%. Without access to more data, I'm guessing the reviews by platform has way more PC reviews than mobile reviews which is why the 75% from mobile isn't affecting the overall score.

I don't understand how it can have 24 reviews on one side, but 142 on the other. :S

I can only think of one game obscure enough to qualify off the top of my head, which would be Page Chronica. I'm the only one who's rated it, therefore I am the sole arbiter of its quality.

It's only going to make their next console THAT much harder to follow up on. Nintendo seems to be digging themselves a hole they can't get out of.

Hot take but I don't think the Switch 2 will fail, provided they do two things: keep backwards compatibility with the Switch (10k+ game library built in), and name it something sensible like Switch 2 and not SwitcharU or some nonsense.

Yu Yu Yakrusho

Well it is a Yu Yu Hakusho game. I feel like I need something more specific, though, given there are 22 of them.

It looks like there might be reason for concern regarding Donkey Kong Country Returns on Switch.

I just don't want the forum to be in 10 different languages. I don't think that would be very appealing or attractive for new users. It's more about consistency than anything. Translators generally aren't effective when there's more than 2 languages.

This person posts their reviews in English (which I appreciate), so it shouldn't be an issue to post on the forum in English.

I don't moderate reviews for language and I have had a lot of people ask me for filters based on language but it's just not feasible, I don't also want that issue here.

I wish this weren't the case but I think it's important for quality.

I guess I just don't see how it's a problem if there's only one thread in a non-English language. Per language, anyway. I can see where it would be a problem if people were carrying on multiple conversations in multiple languages in the same thread, especially one of the longstanding ones, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

Besides which, if "new user-friendliness" is the issue, one could pretty easily argue that non-English speaking users may not find an "English only" forum particularly usable.

But I mean, you do whatever. Not my site, after all.

The Wii U had just come out, this site kept showing up in my searches, it seemed like a natural fit.

How has nobody mentioned Final Fantasy XVI with Bahamuts Dominant Prince Dion and his lover. I dont really like when gay relationships are thrown into a game for diversity sake when it doesnt really make sense in the context of the game but Prince Dion and his lover whose name I cant quite remember is such a compelling and tastefully done part of the story.

So, after playing Biomutant last year I was VERY into the type of gameplay which it offered and it seemed that this genre was right for me. However, I'm kind of lost on where to go next after I finish my current games on my playlist and I'm not sure where I could go in my backlog or outside of it. I tried researching some games on Steam but found a lot of the Action RPGs being made right now are either Roguelikes and Soulslikes which I'm not interested in. I'm seriously also okay with having Action Adventure games on the list as the style I feel fits with what I'm looking for.

To nail it down, here's a list of what I've played that I know I enjoy:

Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning (Played about 10 Hours and very much enjoyed it)
Kingdom Hearts (Have to finish and only got so far but it clicks with me in the beginning)
Yakuza (Specifically 0-6. Love exploring the world, doing activities and completing side stories and the combat just feels right. I'm playing Kiwami 2 rn)
Valkyrie Elysium (Played the demo and really enjoyed it)
Oblivion (Played a lot of it a couple years ago and loved looting dungeons)
Biomutant (As said, gameplay was very appealing and there was tons of stuff to do in it)

Now, here are some guidelines to nail the experience I'm looking for:

Cannot be a Soulslike or Roguelike (Although, I am fine with something that is beginner friendly like the recent Star Wars Jedi games as I would like to try them)
Cannot be 2D. 2.5D might be okay (I'm playing Cat Quest rn)
Game can have a big open world (Oblivion) or a series of big levels to go across (Yakuza). It's preferrable but not necessary.
Game should have action combat
First Person View is also allowed (I loved the first Borderlands game)
Looter Shooters are okay! (Like Destiny 2 and Borderlands as said)
Third Person View Preferrable
Can also be an Isometric View, like a Diablo Style Game (I love Torchlight and have played lots of Diablo III)
Platformers are also allowed! (Ratchet and Clank maybe?)
A Game with a Engrossing Story is also preferrable if possible
Something that can keep me busy for more than the usual 4-5 Hours it takes to beat a lot of my games (Something above 10+ Hours)
I am not looking for a game that has little pressure on completing the story when most of the time you can mess around (GTA, Saints Row)


I know this is very specific, but it helps me pin down what experience I want. Hopefully this will help, but if you have any questions I'll try to answer them. I can go broader in most cases, but I just wanted to see what you guys would recommend. Thanks all! :)

Bayonetta, Bayonetta 2, and Bayonetta Origins are all musts. (Not Bayonetta 3, though. Never Bayonetta 3.)

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is a great action adventure, in my opinion, although I'm one of the few who evangelize for it.

I also second the recommendation of Darksiders and Darksiders II, the second one more so. Darksiders III is technically soulslike, but if you play on classic mode, it's not as intense; in fact, I played it and Jedi: Fallen Order almost back-to-back, and they're practically the same.

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is a really unique action adventure, and it just came out on Switch.

The entire Gravity Rush series is amazing, even if the zero gravity combat can be a bit wonky at times. But the sense of exploration is incredible. Truly one of my favorites.

If you haven't already, you should get back to Kingdom Hearts. The first one is my favorite, but they're all fantastic. Make sure to actually play 358/2 Days if you can, rather than watching the (heavily truncated) HD recap movie. (Re:coded is worth playing too, but that one actually adds scenes to its HD movie, not removes them, so if you're only in it for the story, that's a fair experience.)

This should go without saying, but most of the 3D Legend of Zelda games fit most of your criteria. Twilight Princess is the best one, if you play the GameCube or Wii U version.

It was mentioned in passing already, but Pandora's Tower is my favorite Wii game.

Prince of Persia 2008 is criminally underrated, and the only thing bad about it (to my mind) is that it didn't get a sequel.

Kind of a left field recommendation, but Tokyo Jungle is a really quirky action game that lends itself really well to repeat plays.

Finally, take a look at the Ys series. You'd probably like the more recent ones especially.
